Entries are now open for The Australian International Design Awards 2012. Awarding not only the best in product design as the peak body has for the last 53 years, 2012 sees the unveiling of a new awards field – Service Design (Not For Profit, Business, Education & Government).

Premium Media are working with Good Design Australia on showcasing the finalists for this years awards in the second half of 2012.

More Music, More Wine!

The Hunter Valley wine district north of Sydney in NSW is going to extend the frequency and amount of large scale music events the region hosts in 2012. Premium Media constructed and submitted DA plans on behalf of the Roche Group for The Tempus Two Winery site to host concerts up to 8000 PAX.

Tempus Two Winery is centrally located on the cnr of Broke & McDonald roads, with excellent infrastructure within the property, including a sloped, grassy ampitheatre, restaurants and bars.

Cessnock Council has approved plans for Eight events per year for the next three years. However Premium Media has just submitted a section 96 amendment for indefinite approval in line with Council’s decision to grant similar approval to a property in the Valley. We’ll keep you updated on the progress.

Surfaid Needs You

Premium Media is proud to be producing the first annual Surfaid Ball at Sydney’s Doltone House on Friday 9th of March 2012. Surfaid’s contribution to outlying areas of Indonesia has been amazing since the organisation was founded in 2000.

SurfAid, in partnership with communities and government, works to prevent disease, suffering and death through educational programs and health promotion, that aims to change poor health behaviours and reduce the risk from natural disasters. The foundations emergency response and ability to work with a range of organisations in the region has been nothing short of impressive.

Join World Champions, Surfing professionals, heads of the surf industry, key surf media, Surfaid patrons – along with corporate high-flyers (or surfers in suits as we like to call them) for a night of much needed fundraising. For information head to the Surfaid website.

And thus ends another epic instalment of the Falls Music & Arts Festival 2011. Musical (and comedic) highlights included Aloe Blacc, Arj Barker, Fleet Foxes, Grouplove, CANT, DJ Yoda, The Naked & Famous, Lanie Lane, Northeast Party House, Kimbra & Many More…

And so the planning commences for 2012. The team at Premium Media are now making lists of artists for this year’s event program and looking to enhance the efficiency, quality and user friendly aspects of the events production for December 2012. Stay tuned for an initial event announcement in July.

Transparentsea USA

After their epic journey in 2009, the Transparentsea team led by professional free surfer, Dave Rastovich, 31, (Byron Bay, NSW, Australia) is preparing to embark on a one month kayaking and surfing odyssey down the Californian coast to draw awareness to marine and coastal issues, as well as highlight the annual migration of the endangered grey whale population.

Road Closed

We’re excited to announce a new three-year approval to host Paddington’s William Street Laneway Festival in Sydney, with the 2011 instalment set down for this coming Saturday the 24th September 2011.

From 10:00am – 6:00pm William st will be closed between Oxford and Paddington Sts, showcasing the array of designer outlets amongst the historic terraces, along with music, food & on street bars to add to the focus on fashion.

A day for the whole community, William st will be closed to traffic, with the team from Aperol Spritz / Campari creating a pop up on-street bar, delicious food stalls on the street and each retailer will look to add their own flavour to the day (cupcakes anyone?).

A street closure is a very rare thing in Sydney, so if you’re close by, drop by and help us put a focus on the creative fashion district of William St Paddington.

We set out to raise $30 000.00 with the Hope For Orphans Japan event we produced at Tokonoma in Surry Hills Sydney. In what was a great night with heartfelt speeches, amazing music performances and delicious food, we were overwhelmed with the response. We’ve managed to raise over $80 000.00. Thank you to all the ambassadors, sponsors and people who dug deep for the kids.

Hope For Orphans Japan

Full details are confirmed and tickets are now on sale for the Hope For Orphans Japan fundraising event on Tuesday 26th July @ Tokonoma in Surry Hills Sydney. Hope For Orphans Japan is a registered Australian charity raising money for orphans directly affected by the Japanese earthquake & tsunami in March 2011. The charity is aiming to raise over AUD30 000.00. All proceeds from this event will go directly to orphans in Ichi no Seki Fuji no Sono, in Iwate, one of the worst hit areas of Japan.
